Beautiful guesthouse in a traditional Rajasthani house

This is a beautiful guesthouse in a traditional Rajasthani house. Jazzmine, Manoj and Kelsey will make you feel like you are part of a community, not just a guest. Due to the amount of work they have done in the area in other projects, they can all give you insights to life that I don't think you would get as a normal tourist. They have a strong ethical and environmental focus which I really appreciated. I was given a walking tour by two young female guides, which was not just interesting from the point of view of learning about Bikaner, but gave me rare insights into life in India for young people today, while also providing incomes for young females. The guesthouse is clearly striving to leave the smallest possible environmental footprint, recycling all its waste, building furniture from waste materials and providing filtered water. The guesthouse itself is walking distance to the fort in a quiet residential area. It has clean and tasteful rooms that are reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to recommend it to conscious travellers.

"Opened up my eyes to the magic charm that is Bikaner"

Hara House changed my views about daily life in India and opened up my eyes to the magic charm that is Bikaner. Helping the community in a way that is desperately needed in northern India, visiting Hara House is ethically rewarding for the soul and deeply satisfying for the inner traveler. Thank you Jazzmine, Manoj, and Kelsey for this unforgettable adventure!!!

Conscious and Convenient

I had a wonderful stay at Hara House! The staff were so friendly and helpful, the food is delicious (thanks to Manoj!). They were able to tell me about the local area and give me advice and information. The paintings that people have contributed are beautiful and really add to the atmosphere of the place. The location is conveniently only 5 mins from the train station and the place was clean and tidy. I was especially drawn by the commitment to zero waste- such a wonderful idea and I'm so glad that there is a choice available now to people who want to minimise their environmental effects whilst visiting India! I only hope they are able to open more guest houses in other locations!

A beautiful home base, in a peaceful community, within Bikaner.

Jazzmine and Manoj were professional and empowering hosts. I was able to stay almost 2 weeks and it was a highlight of my trip to India. Getting to know a community like the one around Hara House was a treasure. The location made it easy to branch out within the city too. An inspiring oasis.
